What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday started in America in 2012 and is now a global generosity movement. Recognised as the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, it has become a day that encourages all forms of giving from donating funds, giving your time or simply making someone smile. Giving Tuesday serves as a reset after a weekend filled with Black Friday deals and Cyber Monday sales, consider donating to local charities and communities in need.

TOMS®

Each year for GivingTuesday, TOMS® Shoes keeps its stores across the country closed until 1:00 pm in order to let employees spend the morning volunteering (virtually in recent years) at local organisations they care about.

Zenith

In 2018, Zenith sent staff to volunteer at NYC nonprofits, including Coalition for the Homeless, Inc. and Project Angel Food. One of their employees said, “I spent 4 hours chopping vegetables for people who suffer from illnesses that don’t allow them to cook for themselves. My arm is hurting, but somewhere someone will have my veggies and it’ll make their day a little easier, and that’s honestly all that matters.”

Outdoor Voices

Outdoor Voices is partnering with Delivering Good to donate leggings to those in need at the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless this Giving Tuesday.
For any Hybrid or Legend mattress purchased today, Leesa will donate a mattress to a child in need.

Kate spade ​​

Launched a 50% off almost everything sale and donated 5% of sales to On Purpose.

Madewell

In 2020, Madewell matched customer donations to No Kid Hungry given through Madewell retail stores in the U.S. and at madewell.com from November 15, 2020, 12:01am ET through January 1, 2021, 11:59pm ET, up to a total match of $50,000. No Kid Hungry provides meals for children in need.

Alo Yoga

Alo Yoga will be donated a portion of its sales to Alo Gives, the activewear brand’s non-profit dedicated to bringing movement and mindfulness through yoga to kids of all ages.

Reformation

Reformation partnered with thredUP, an online thrift store, that will donate $5 to the Circular Fashion Fund for customers’ donation of clothing items during Giving Tuesday 2021. The Company also ran an initiative from Giving Tuesday until the end of December that matched all purchases of masks online and donate 100,000 masks to Los Angeles Mission Shelters; 50,000 masks to Black Women in Motion, a youth-led organization that empowers and supports the advancement of black womxn and survivors of sexual violence; and 50,000 masks to Grow, an organization that combines coaching with nature-based projects to help its trainees combat social isolation, boost their wellbeing, and develop employability skills.

John Hardy

Jewellery brand John Hardy pledged 20% of its sales in 2021 to The Conscious Kid, a non-profit organization dedicated to equity and promoting healthy racial identity in youth.

Onzie

Activewear brand Onzie donated a portion of sales purchased between 21st – 29th November to St. Joseph Center whose mission is to provide poor working families, as well as homeless men, women, and children of all ages with the inner resources and tools to become productive, stable and self-supporting members of the community.

Sephora

Sephora partnered with twelve organizations to take over its Rewards Bazaar.
